Five songs that didn’t quite manage to illustrate a Pixel

54. The first novel I ever read was ‘Sphere.’ After that, I was into sci fi for quite a while. I don’t know what I like anymore.
Man, I don’t know why I claimed I could write this post. The last one was hard enough. But now I have to come up with even more songs that say something else about me that probably shouldn’t be said.
- “No Voy a Trabajar” by the Bermudas
I almost chose this because it’s a fun song and it illustrates how I’m not going to work. Then I realized I was just being silly. - “One Week,” by the Barenaked Ladies
I almost chose this song because it was silly, but then I realized that I didn’t agree with some of the lyrics. I don’t eat meat, so the “Chickety China the Chinese Chicken, you have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin'” just didn’t fit right. - “We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel
I don’t know what my deal is with songs where the artist just speaks really fast for no good reason. Maybe I have a problem. And now… to choose something slow. - “It’s the End of the World (as we know it)” by R.E.M.
Because sometimes, when the world is about to end, I feel like it reminds me of the past. - “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-a-Lot
I’m not English, so I don’t recognize the title of ‘sir.’ I just consider him ‘Mr. Mix-a-Lot.’
Actually, it occurs to me that this entire enterprise, that of defining yourself by music, is a failed one… hm.

I don’t think it’s ridiculous to define yourself through music. I have certain songs that I think of as my own personal theme songs…
1. Dancing Queen by ABBA
2. Do You Want to Play? by Jewel
3. Everything Is Alright by Motion City Soundtrack
4. Groove Is in the Heart by Dee-Lite
5. Hips Don’t Lie by Shakira
6. I Want to Save You by Something Corporate
7. Intuition by Natalie Imbruglia
8. Life Is Short by Butterfly Boucher
9. Put Your Records on by Corinne Bailey Rae
10. Taking Chances by Platinum Weird
Ooh, Groove is in the Heart. Great song! And I agree, I’m just not very good at choosing. 🙁
