Five songs that didn’t quite manage to illustrate a Pixel

54. The first novel I ever read was ‘Sphere.’ After that, I was into sci fi for quite a while. I don’t know what I like anymore.

Man, I don’t know why I claimed I could write this post. The last one was hard enough. But now I have to come up with even more songs that say something else about me that probably shouldn’t be said.

  1. No Voy a Trabajar” by the Bermudas
I almost chose this because it’s a fun song and it illustrates how I’m not going to work. Then I realized I was just being silly.
  2. One Week,” by the Barenaked Ladies
I almost chose this song because it was silly, but then I realized that I didn’t agree with some of the lyrics. I don’t eat meat, so the “Chickety China the Chinese Chicken, you have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin'” just didn’t fit right.
  3. We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel
I don’t know what my deal is with songs where the artist just speaks really fast for no good reason. Maybe I have a problem. And now… to choose something slow.
  4. It’s the End of the World (as we know it)” by R.E.M.
Because sometimes, when the world is about to end, I feel like it reminds me of the past.
  5. Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-a-Lot
I’m not English, so I don’t recognize the title of ‘sir.’ I just consider him ‘Mr. Mix-a-Lot.’

Actually, it occurs to me that this entire enterprise, that of defining yourself by music, is a failed one… hm.
